I've seem a lot of n00bs disconect right after they leap into their first battle with a human player (obvious not playign the tutorial).
This really isn't a suggestion, but you should try to do something about that.

what about not letting new players play real players before they have ten victories?

...and "guest" players shouldn't be allowed to EVER play real players. They should have to make a real account first.
