Considering how much work goes into casting this guy, I think he should also have the ability "cannot be the target of spells or effects". I mean seriously? You gonna tell me you can entangle or possess a creature as big as a CITY?? I don't think so. But speaking of demons/possession, I bet you could easily stuff three Lords of Chaos into Rigith's head. You know, I actually haven't seen that one hit the table yet.. looking forward to it.. and at the same time.. really not looking at it. Want him toe to toe with an Elder Ent on the ent's home turf though LOL |

I think the biggest problem in getting him out is that he requires 5 domain. This might not seem like a big deal, just get out 5 domain buildings and you're set, right? Wrong, because you can only have 3 in one domain so you need 3 in one and 2 in another meaning you can only play him in mixed decks which haven't proven to be that practical to begin with. So I really agree with sun here. considering how much insane effort you have to get him out (and by then you're probably well in control anyway), he really should be immune from spells. |

But he's fun. The special ability is absolutely sick (I possessed him once). |

Isn't that card just an easter egg? I mean, it costs like three trucks of cocaine, and still quite uninimpressive. Barkskin dragon can do much more smoke in less time. |

I managed to cast him playing in a sealed double-elim yesterday when the tide of the game was actually starting to turn against me. My opponent (Arvdog) was playing MF/DL, and had a squad of 4 creatures (including 2 shield warriors) picking away at my creature barricade. Was able to use Rigith's special to know a shield warrior across the board, and then take the other out. I have had some success in the limited format running two colors, but casting this guy is very difficult without Glimpse of Greatness. And I DEFINITELY don't ever see it happening in constructed play. |

It's just so depressing to get an Elder Ent, Rigith, etc out FINALLY and have him Lysis'd the same round.. |

I don't necessarily think all the "hard to get out" creatures should have an ability like this... but 5 domain is a huge obstacle to overcome. As far as getting lysis'd in the end game... that's hard luck. I've long felt that the tide of an otherwise even game is determined by whoever is forced into using their creature control cards first... and if the victim is able to recover. |

If he were unable to be Lysis'd etc then you would see the demand for Glimpse of Greatness skyrocket and this guy on the table in the first 5 rounds. On the other hand, if Lysis were changed to do, say 7 damage (which if creature brought to zero they would still be instantly removed)... But that's a lot of screwing around just to accommodate one card. |
